How to use this body fat percentage calculator?

After you input your personal data, a calculation can be started by holding the grip electrodes and press the start button. The Omron Hbf-306C sends a weak electrical current of 500 µA and 50 KHz through your body to calculate fat levels, don’t worry, you won’t feel it. The Omron Hbf-306C has 2 modes; Athlete and Normal modes. But before you select the Athlete or Normal mode you must calculate your FIT index by using this formula:

FIT Index = Time x Intensity x Frequency


Time is a number starts from one to four that represents the duration of your exercise.

1: less than 15 minutes

2: 15 – 29 minutes

3: 30 – 44 minutes

4: 45 minutes or more

Intensity is a number starts from one to five that represents the intensity of your workout.

1: light aerobic exercise (normal walking, golfing etc.)

2: low to moderate aerobic and sports activities (recreational volleyball, moderate speed walking etc.)

3: moderate aerobic activities (bike riding, jogging etc.)

4: moderately high activities result in sustained heavy breathing and perspiration (stair stepping, tennis etc.)

5: high intensity activities that result in sustained heavy breathing and perspiration (running, swimming, long distance cycling etc.)

Frequency is a number starts from five to one that represents your frequency of workout.

1: less than once a month

2: a few times per month

3: 1 to 2 times per week

4: 3 to 4 times per week

If your FIT index is greater than 60, you should select the Athlete setting. Besides determining your FIT index, you are also requested to enter your personal data such as gender, age, weight and height. When all the data is stored, the Omron’s body fat calculator will display “Ready”
